A Quick Word About…Tracking

So, I’m working on this theory of writing, trying to put things I’ve learned into words in an effort to improve my own writing (quality AND quantity) and maybe help some others too.

This is all in the early stages of contemplation and outlining and head-scratching, but let me share with you a sneak peek into where all of this is going: TRACKING & ACCOUNTABILITY.

I’ll be expanding on this (very basic) idea in the coming weeks and months, but the bottom line is this: As a writer I need some sense of where I’ve been, where I’m going, and how I’m going to get there. At the same time, I need to balance that (limited) structure with the creative process and not fence in one idea while letting others escape and roam free.

I’m testing out some ways that I think may work for me, and I’ll bring you the results as I understand them. In the mean time, keep your eyes and ears open for ways YOU hold YOURSELF accountable for your work and ways you track your progress toward your ultimate goals.
